Conner Prairie

I had the day off today b/c it's election day in Indiana. So...the girls and I had a field trip to Conner Prairie. One of the many things I love about having kids is that I rediscover all these things and places I'd forgotten about! Conner Prairie is amazing. Who knew? I thought it was just a place with log cabins and symphonies :) We had awesome weather today. It's supposed to be really hot later, but this morning it was sunny at 70 degrees. It wasn't crowded except with a few field trip groups, but that wasn't bad. The girls had an absolute blast. They could run around and discover all sorts of cool things. The indoor area had old fashioned arts and crafts...those were a little old for the girls, but we tried! They also had a kid area full of kid sized tractors to ride on, old fashion play kitchens, a play garden, AND a fake cow that you could actually milk. That was HILARIOUS! Addy kept squeezing the udder and then putting her hand under there so she could squirt herself. I was cracking up. Lily liked the live animals best - no shock there. Actually, both girls were a bit obsessed with the cows. Addy can now say "moo" too. It was a perfect time to go b/c in the spring all of the baby animals are born and the workers let you pet them. There were baby sheep, baby cows, baby pigs, baby ducks, baby goats, and baby chickens. Lily actually milked a goat! How many 2 year olds can say they milked a goat??? (okay, only counting two year olds who don't live in the country?). There was no way we could cover all the territory they have, so we focused mainly on the animals and stuff that little kids would like. They have lots and lots of cabins with people dressed in era clothing who are working and teaching kids what they are doing. The girls were a little young for that. There's also an Indian village, a school, and who knows what else. We probably only covered 2/3 of the property. We'll definitely be back there!!!

I remember going there as a child. The first picture of Lilian is great(minus the cow's butt) ;)

If those are not the two most precious babies in the world!
I love the first picture of Lily on the fence with the sunlight streaming through her hair and her blissful smile. Addy milking a cow is so adorable.
