Birthday Bash

Lily's birthday party was the last event of the weekend. I was so worn out after it all that I fell asleep at 8:30 last night. The party was really fun and we had decent weather - pretty lucky considering that it's been raining and cold all day today. Matt and Taryn were in town from Fairfax; Joe and Mel were here from Pensecola; and Barclay's grandpa and aunt Carol came up from Miami. So it was good to have the out of towners here to help celebrate. The pink car was her favorite present - she also got a leap pad; a new rocking horse for Po Po's house; learning dog; block puzzles, and lots of books. She's been so crazy playing with her toys last night and tonight that she just dropped right off to sleep at bed time instead of it being a struggle. So thanks everyone for the toys.

Sturgeon's Barn

After the Shower on Saturday, Lily, Abbie and I went out to Sturgeon's Barn. We met Sarah, Laura, Uncle John, Aunt Carla, etc out there. The whole family was going out there for dinner later that night, but Lily and I were due to make the trip back to Indy and we're able to do the dinner version. So we went out early to ride the cow train and pick out a big pumpkin - our small pumpkin pick was made last week! The cow train was an experience. It's really not for adults - Jordan was driving so he made it extra long as a "treat".

Birthday treat #1

On Friday we went out to eat at Fridays. We told the waitress it was Lily's birthday and she got the treat of life! A whole ice cream sunday all to herself. It was such a big mess.

Baby Shower

Melissa's baby shower was the first event of the weekend. She loaded up. We didn't think she'd be able to get 1/2 of the stuff in the car, but thanks to Joe's packing skills they got all except the high chair.

Pumpkin Patchin' It!

Waterman's Farm is a place a lot like Sturgeon's Barn. Lily and I met our friends out there today. The weather was fabulous (I was even a little hot). We went on a hayride; explored the pumpkin patch; watched the horses - next year she can ride them; played in the haystack, and watched the pumpkin eating dinasour. Lily and Audrey each picked out a baby pumpkin to take home. We're saving our big pumpkin purchase for next weekend! I just love fall!

Emily's Wedding!

Emily Foli got married on Saturday to a guy she met while working at National. I've only met her fiance (husband) a few times, but he seems really nice. The wedding was fabulous. The reception was at the montage and they really did it up right. Lots of drinks (not that I could have any), lots of food, lots of dancing. There were only a few of us there from high school, but there were random people I knew there too....like Uncle Bill and Aunt Beth.

Happy Birthday John

John turned one and had a big birthday party on September 23rd. Lily and I went to the Haute to help celebrate. He had a pooh bear theme and seemed to really know it was his birthday. The funniest part was how careful he was eating the cake. He kept taking little bites using only his little finger! He needs to give Lily some lessons!
