June Happenings....

Okay, so it's been a super busy summer thus far. We barely have time to take pictures of the cuteness, but I have gotten a few! Day care is closed for more than 2 weeks and we've had to recruit help! Mom was here Sunday thru today, but she's back in the Haute now. I don't think we took a single picture when mom was here...but we will next week b/c she promised to bring the kayak. Ummm...where to start. Friday we went to the Christ the King festival and listened to the band. Barclay's boss's sons play in the band. We went early b/c they were the opening act and b/c with a one year old and a 2 year old we go everywhere early. Anyway, the girls danced to the music and showed off their moves. Lily even "won" a t-shirt that they tossed her from the stage. Saturday we had something during the day, but I don't even remember what. Then we had Paul and Liz's wedding that night. The wedding was outside at Park Tudor high school. The grounds there are amazing and I had no idea - I'd only seen the part of Park Tudor that you see when you drive by on college. Then Sunday, Addy and I drove to the Haute for Laura's wedding shower while Barclay took Lily to see the Koalas. Those must be some cool bears b/c Lily told me over and over again that they were "eating leaves". Laura's wedding shower was nice, but the funniest part was the game where she had to stuff her mouth full of gum balls. It was original and shall now be used as a torchure technique in all wedding showers to come....glad I'm already hitched. Lately work has just been beyond insane, but I'm not going to relive that.

One more funny note - so you know how baby safety folk will tell you to not use bumpers on your cribs? Well, we've always had a bumper on Addy's crib, but she's started pulling at it and it doesn't look safe anymore b/c it's not flush against the crib. So I took it off. The first night I took it off she got her leg stuck in the rails of the crib. The second night it was off, I walked in to find this.....so cute! You'll notice that Addy has basically demolished her bed. She's a chewer and she chewed the wood railing completely to bits.
Well, thankfully we have a slow (aka relaxing) weekend coming up with only one wedding shower committment. We desperately need some time at home relaxing. Then we'll see everyone again on 4th of July weekend. We'll probably come to the Haute on Friday morning and stay until sometime on Saturday. Can't wait to see everyone!

Happy Birthdays, Father's Days, Graduation

We had a celebration filled weekend. Mom's birthday was Thursday, and John Callahan had his graduation party Friday. So we went to Terre Haute on Friday after work to celebrate both of those events and an early father's day with dad. Dad's leaving for Libya on Wednesday so we really needed to have some time with him before he left! Be safe dad! It was fun just hanging out with everyone. We stayed there until Saturday at around noon. When we got back to Indy, we went to Cordi's birthday party. Cordi is Lily's little friend who turned three. They mostly ran around the backyard and swam in Cordi's kiddie pool. Today we celebrated Father's day with Barclay and his dad. We cleaned up the house and the yard all morning and then by noon we were on the back porch. The girls had a blast in the sandbox and kiddie pool all day long. Peter, Betty and Ari came by around five and we cooked out on the back porch. The girls have turned into water bugs! Everywhere we go they find water and somehow end up splashing or swimming (it could have something to do with the fact that Indiana is completely saturated in water right now, but I don't think so ). They've been splashing in every puddle the see. Even at the graduation party they found a puddle and spent a lot of time jumping in it! Happy Father's Day to Dad, Peter, Barclay, Matt and Joe! Also, I don't say this enough, but Barclay is the BEST dad to Lily and Addy I could ever hope for. He devotes his evenings and weekends to those girls and they adore him. He'd rather hang out with them than golf or go out for drinks with friends. Happy Father's Day Barclay - we love you.

Broken Camera...Again

This morning I walked into the bathroom and our camera was sitting on the bottom of the toilet. Fabulous. We now have to purchase our 3rd camera in 6 months. I think we'll get a water proof one.

Time Out Addy B!

I got an email from Amy, our day care lady, today saying that Addy got her first time out. She was pulling hair and being generally rotten :) Anyway, check out this picture - it's so funny!
