Miami

This past weekend we went to Miami so the baby could finally meet Barclay's grandpa. They really hit it off! She's over her anxiety around new people, so he got lots of smiles and laughs when they first met.

We were able to get a 4 generation picture like the one from my side of the family.

I also finally got to meet some of Barclay's extended family that still live in Miami. His grandpa's brother Eddie and his family hung out with us a few times.

On Saturday we went to Leisha's wedding. Leisha was a girl they all grew up with in Miami and Jamaica. The wedding was beautiful. Carol bought Lily a little princess dress to wear. She looked so cute in it, but the dress didn't last long at the wedding. It was HOT. So here is a picture of how Lily started out for the wedding, and one of how she ended up.

Finally, on Sunday we went out for breakfast for Ari's 21st Birthday. I know, I know, you're all wondering why we did a breakfast for her 21st. Well, she went out like a rock star on Saturday night and STILL made it to breakfast. I'm, however, starting to realize my age - no way could I have made it until 5 am like she did :) Happy Birthday Ari!

NEWS NEWS NEWS

There has been so much going on that I wanted to post a quick update. First of all, we got the house!! Yeah! Can't wait to get possession and start working on it - though that's over a month away. Secondly, Lily had her 6 months doc appointment the other day. She hasn't grown much at all. She's gotten taller, but not much heavier. So now she weighs in at 14 lbs 14 oz (as opposed to 14 lbs 2 months ago!) and 27 inches. I was concerned, but the doc said she's in the normal range still - 20th percentile for weight; 90th for height. Also, doc suspects that all the coughing is due to asthma, so we're going to try a nebulizer for a while and see how it works out. The home health guy came by yesterday (while I was home sick), handed me the nebulizer, asked me if I knew how to use it, said "well that makes 2 of us" when i said I didn't, and left. So Barclay called and bawled them out, they sent a new guy, and the nebulizer is up and running. Meanwhile, our relator came by and listed our house. So we're officially "up for sale". We're leaving for Miami on Friday. Hopefully it'll be relaxing. Barclay needs the get away more than I do - he's had to do most of the leg work since I've been sick as a dog. I shouldn't feel too bad about that, though, b/c Lily said her first word the other day --- DaDa. That's it for now...

Easter Pics

Here are a few cute pictures from Easter. Lily loved the toy (though very life-like) monkey that Thomas got from the Easter bunny. She loved the monkey so much that she took his banana bottle and tried to drink out of it :) We got to take more pics of the second cousins together again, which I love! John looked like quite the little man today. He's so cute!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Happy Easter Everybody!!! We've been working and working all weekend getting the house ready to put on the market. Wednesday is our goal. Still haven't officially gotten the house yet, but we anticipate good news tomorrow. Exciting times! I wish everyone could come in town this weekend, but I'm sure we'll see you soon. We're heading to the Haute tomorrow morning to meet mom, dad and Abbie and church and then go out to Aunt Molly's.
Just think....next Easter Joe and Mel will have a 5 month old baby! How crazy is that!

EEEEEEkkkkkkkk!!!!!

So we've officially decided that we're going to put an offer on another house and get ours on the market! I'm very excited b/c this place we've found is really special. I'm also nervous as sin, though! The house we're trying to get is more expensive and needs some cosmetic work, but the yard is better than any I've ever seen. I mean this yard is absolutely superb! Our realtor thinks that in 10 or 15 years someone will buy the house just to knock it down and build on the lot - it's that nice. I'm just nervous b/c I need our house to sell quick so we don't have to worry about it. It's going to be so nice (if it works out - don't want to get my hopes up) to have this yard over the summer. It'll be great for sitting out, kiddie pools, barbeque's, the whole bit. Wish us luck! Also, send any of your friends who are looking to by a house in our direction!

Firsts Galore

Well, this has sure been a week of firsts for Lily. She got her first Irish shirt - a gift from Aunt Taryn purchasd at McGuires Irish Pub. When we were down in Pensecola she sat up by herself for the first time. Then on Thursday her first tooth popped through. Yep, our little girl is growing up! I can't get a picture of the tooth, but I did get one of her sitting up in her new shirt!
