Our first remodeling project

So we've painted a few walls in our married years, but that's about it in the way of home remodeling or home improvement. Over the past few weeks we've taken on a cooler task - updating the bathrooms with new counter tops, sinks and faucets. Plus, our master bath is no longer purple. I actually did nothing other than pick things out, but our (almost) brother in law John did the plumbing, his friend installed and cut the counter tops, and Barclay and his dad painted, caulked and patched some wood today. So we really owe a lot to John and Peter - the handy members of the family. Now it's all done except for one faucet we had to send back b/c a piece was broken. We put vessels and waterfall faucets in our master bath. It also got painted "Lighthouse Shadow" - ha! I just love paint names. The two smaller bathrooms got under-mount sinks and 3 piece faucets (rather than the ones that combine the handle with the faucet).

While Barclay was out this morning buying the paint and other supplies, I drug out the halloween costumes to see if Lily would be interested in playing with them. Not so much. Lily was afraid of every costume (even the frog) and wanted nothing to do with putting them on. We don't even have one scary costumes b/c they're all in baby and toddler sizes. So while I'd like to provide you with a picture of Lily the tiger and Addy the dragon, you'll only get to see Addy the dragon..Lily calls her "baby dragon".

Addy can sit.....almost

Addy wants desperately to sit on her own, but she's not quite strong enough. She holds herself up with her hands and has had a few face plants! She's getting there.

Season of Congratulations

Last week, on September 10th, 2007 Gabrielle Kathleen Chamness (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was born! She's our friend Katie and Jeff's new baby girl. We haven't seen pictures, but since Katie checks this blog I hope this will serve as encouragement for her to send some!

On Saturday, Apryle and Dave got hitched. Their wedding was beautiful. It was outside near a lake and the reception was in the country club next door. Our friends Richard and Leigh from Alabama were in town for the wedding, as was Whitney. Shawna actually married them.

Busy Days

We have been non stop the past few weeks. At the end of August sometime we went boating with mom, dad, Abbie and Blake out at Lieber State park. It was really nice and relaxing, but we didn't have the boat for long enough...so we hoped to go again tomorrow. It's raining now, so we'll see how that works out. Ive been to about 500 baby showers and wedding showers over the past few weeks - at least 2 each week (and sadly, no, I'm not exaggerating). Went to a bachelorette party last weekend. We've watched soccer games, gone to work parties, attended the Colts party, had a long put off dinner with friends...on and on. Then there's work....Barclay and I are really tested to our limits lately at work. Hopefully it'll get better soon, but right now there is no end in sight. The girls have continued their rapid growth spurts - Lily has been able to jump for about a month and just loves to show everyone. She knows her colors, can count to 10, and get to "C" on her ABC's. This morning Barclay is at a golf tournament, so the girls and I scoured the planet for shoes that Lily could wear with her flower girl dress. We finally found some that she puts on and doesn't say "Owie Mommy". Addy can roll over both ways, eats solid foods, and is starting to sit up (really she can just balance for a few seconds and then she falls over). That's about it from the home front.
