Memorial Day Weekend

We were all in the Haute for Memorial Day. Barclay didn't make it until Sunday night, but the rest of the family was there the whole time. He had been in Ohio for his 10 year college reunion...I had the camera, so there are no pics of that, which is probably for the best. We did get a picture of Lily in her new Oberlin tee shirt though.

Mom and dad had 12 people staying at their house. It was fun, but definitely hectic with 3 babies and 9 adults! I did absolutely nothing the whole weekend except hang out at home. My two outings were going to Melissa's mom's house for their cookout, and going to the grocery store....I've gotten so lame in my old age! Everyone else was in and out and definitely more social than I was :) Until I got home I didn't realize that almost all of the pics I took were of babies only. Next time I'll be more careful to get pictures of the whole family. The weather was very un memorial day like - cloudy and rainy. That bummed mom out b/c she had bought a cool wading pool for the kids. I'm sure it will get some use at some point this summer, but we only used it for 10 minutes or so this weekend. I couldn't resist posting way too many pics of the babies - they were just all too cute together. Hopefully we'll all be together again in 2 months for Taryn's baby shower and Addy's baptism.

Mother's Day and more

We celebrated Mother's Day this year with brunch at our house. Barclay's parents, John's parents, Ana and John all came over. It may be a tradition we keep up b/c it was so much easier than trying to go to a nice restaurant (or any restaurant for that matter) with the girlies. Somehow Lily and Addy came away with the most presents :)

Addison had her one month doc appt this morning and it went well. She's 9 lbs 11 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long..so right at the 50th percentile for both weight and height. After the doc we went and visited the new day care. I'd been worried about how Lily would react after having been home for a few months with me. Suprisingly, she jumped right in and started playing with the other kids...even tried to kiss one of them. It should work out really nicely b/c two of the little girls are exactly Lily's age and they'll have another newborn who can eventually become Addison's play mate.

More pics and updates

Last week I felt ready to go back to work b/c the girls were running circles around me. This week, however, I'm back to loving maternity leave and the lack of anxiety that comes with it :) We spent some time in our wading pool since the neighborhood pool doesn't open until the end of the month. Lily just cracks me up with her "swimming". She goes head first down the slide, crashes, and gets up and does it again! Last night she even jumped in with her clothes on when we were outside - and it was kind of cold!

Mom got us a child seat for my bike and Lily gets a real kick out of riding around in it. We were outside yesterday when Addy was taking a nap and Lily wanted to ride the bike. So, needless to say, we couldn't go anywhere since Addy was in the house. So we rode around and around the cul de sac for a good 15-20 minutes. My neighbors probably think I'm crazy, riding the bike around in circles!

Abbie and her boyfriend, Blake, spent the day with us today. I needed the extra set of hands to take both girls to the zoo. We had Addison in the front carrier and Lily either ran around or was carried the whole time. Abbie and Blake spent a lot of time chasing her since I had Addy with me. Lily loved the animals, but the funniest part was when we walked into the dolphin pavilion and she said "mermaids"! The child looks for mermaids everywhere!

We may go to see mom on Saturday for mother's day weekend, but with the price of gas I'm not sure. I'd love to see the new puppy though! Just in case, I sent gifts and cards home with Abbie. Either way, we'll be there soon. I can't wait to see everyone over memorial day. Sadly, Barclay won't be joining us - he has his 10 year (yes, I said 10 year) COLLEGE reunion that weekend. Wow!

Sunday in the Haute

We went to the Haute on Sunday to spend some time with the family. It was an awesome day outside, so mom brought out the kiddie pool for Lily.....Lily just loved it! She's going to be quite the little dare devil at the pool this summer. She loved the pool so much, however, that she missed her nap, which lead to a breakdown later. We went out to Aunt Kate's in the afternoon. She had a cookout to celebrate Thomas and Hannah's first communion. The kids all took turns on the pony. John Joseph absolutely loved riding the pony, but Olivia and Lily preferred just petting him. It was really great to see everyone and to let some of the extended family meet Addy for the first time.
