Who's Bigger?

Looks like Lily is the same size as Gizmo the cat now. Gizmo loves Lily, but Lily has yet to pay any attention to the cats.

Nikki's Birthday

We went to PF Changs tonight to celebrate Nikki's Bday - the big 2-9! Nikki got to wear the birthday tiara and the waiter brought her a chocolate birthday cake. It was fun - the first night out with the girls that I've had since the baby was born. Good times. So here's a picture of Nikki about to dig into her birthday cake and another picture of Jess and Amber at dinner. Also, for those interested in the ongoing customer service saga (which I noticed I have yet to note on the blog), we did have a quality waiter tonight :) MUCH better than KFC.

Thanksgiving #2

Saturday night we had Thanksgiving at mom and dad's house. Matt and Taryn couldn't be there, unfortunately, because Matt had to work. So they stayed in Fairfax, but the rest of us were there. The doc told dad not to drink any more wine until they can do another blood test, but he decided the doctor is a quack and drank wine anyway. So we ALL ate, drank and were merry :) We also finally remembered to get the four generation picture with the grandmother, mom, me and the baby.

Danielle's Shower

Our cousin Kevin and his wife Danielle are next up to have a baby. She's having a little boy who will be here on Dec 28th or before. Danielle's shower was on Saturday at the Grimes's house. The first picture is of Danielle opening some of her gifts. The second is of Abbie, Alice, Becca Grimes, and Amy at the shower.

Abbie's 18th Birthday

Friday was Abbie's 18th Birthday. She's now an adult according to the law....not so much according to the rest of us :) We went out for a birthday lunch at Lonestar where cousin Lisa was waiting tables. Paul took Abbie out for dinner, so we had to celebrate early. Lisa arranged for the sundae and singing.

After lunch we went back home for cake and ice cream. Abbie got some cool presents including several "non bulky" sweaters and some ice cubes that change color when you put them in your drink!

Even Joe and Melissa's dog Henry got to party!

Thanksgiving #1

Our first Thanksgiving celebration was on the actual Thanksgiving day at Barclay's parents house. His mom made a feast! There were 7 or 8 of us there and enough food to feed a small army - it was delicious. Here is a picture of the spread. Sadly. our camera ran out of batteries, so this is the only good pic we have. I'll try to get Ari to email me some others.

Little Girl, Big Mess

Thought you'd all like to see the progression of Lily's biggest mess yet! See, this is the fun way I spend my days while you all are at work or doing other fun things :) We had all sorts of errands to run this morning and Lily was dressed in a cute little outfit.

Here are her clothes and her car seat after I picked her up - GROSS! Same thing happened yesterday at Aunt Carla's house :)

No wipes in the world could handle this one - so it was bath time!

After bathtime she was feeling good ...clean clothes, clean baby.....
Seriously, though, I need to get a life!!!!

curfews....

I missed a call from Abbie at around 10:00 tonight. She was at a concert in Illinois. I knew she was going to this concert, and that mom and dad are out of town tonight, so I was worried something may have happened. I called her back at around 11:00 and couldn't hear a word she was saying. All I'm saying is this - what happened to the curfew??? By dad's old standards, a 17 year old should be home and in bed by 11:30. Seeing as how she's in Champaign, Illinois, and the concert is still going on, I seriously doubt she's going to make it.

Doc News

We just got back from the doctor. Lily now weighs a "normal" weight...she's 8 lbs 10 ounces, which is right at the 50th percentile for her age. Yeah! Just 2 weeks ago she only weighed 7lbs 4 ounces, so the doctor was pretty happy about her progress.
After the doctor we went and opened a savings account for the baby. So, Joe, you can rest assured that her "birth" day money won't be squandered :)

Lily and Olivia

Lily visited her cousin Olivia today. Olivia is Haley's daughter who is 3 1/2 months old. This is the second time they've met. The first time they were both too young to interact at all, but this time they kept smiling at eachother. It was very cute!

Crazy Cat

Just thought I'd show you what our cat does when I'm working on this blog!

Our view

This is the view from our suite. Bob Rhorman (you know, the guy w/the funny car commercials); Bart Peterson, and Governor Daniels sat in the suites around us. Here's the best part....Barclay, me, and Steve Arthur's sons, all got to go down on the field and watch 10 minutes of the game. We stood in the corner that you can see in this picture...right where the people are standing under that white sign. They didn't let us take cameras down on the field unfortunately - I know cause I tried and got shot down!

Go Colts

We had an awesome day today! We got to go to the Colts game and sit in a suite! It was so much fun. Barclay's law firm had these tickets and we went with his boss and his boss's sons. Steve Arthur (the boss) was a Marine officer and he loves to talk to me about Matt and Joe. It's actually the only thing I have to talk to the guy about, so that's handy :) The suite had free food and drinks and super comfy seats. Anyway, here's a picture of Barclay and I at the game in our seats at the front of the suite!

GO DEPAUW

The annual Monon Bell game is this weekend! We'll be missing it, but wanted to show our support for Old Depauw.

My mistake

Okay, a few of you let me know that I had this thing set so that only registered users could comment. I think I've fixed that...give me a break, I'm new to this blog thing :) Jenny wanted to add comments about me being a dork - now she's free to do so!

The secret to sleep...vibration

We found a great way to get Lily to take naps without us holding her. This little chair vibrates and puts her right to sleep. Yeah!

One month

Lily is one month old tomorrow - happy birthday Lily! She's already so different than she was when she was born. Our friends came over last night and brought their baby who is 13 months old. It's scary and exciting how much babies change in just a year!

Welcome

Welcome to our Blog. We are copying Taryn and Matt who were copying Joe and Melissa :) Now that we're all spread out around the country this is a great way to share pictures and info with our loved ones! Our blog will probably be mostly baby pictures for a while...until we start getting out more :)
