Art Fairs and Crawling

Mom came up to Indy on Sunday and we went to the Broadripple Art Fair. The weather was finally fabulous, so it was crowded with people just happy to be outside. Lily chowed down on ice cream and would scream if we weren't fast enough giving it to her.

Lily has also learned to crawl. She's a speedy little devil. Guess we'll be putting the baby gate up this weekend!

New Place

Here are some pics of the new place - they're not the best pics b/c they were taken during our inspection, and while the current owners were in the process of packing. It'll give you an idea though. The inside ones are from the sunroom, kitchen, and living room. The sunroom is my favorite - it opens into the kitchen and feels like you're outside.

Chiluly

Sure hope I spelled that right! We went to a volunteer recognition dinner at the Children's Museum on Friday night. The Chiluly glass exhibit was there and it was amazing. It's Chiluly's largest permanent sculpture. He also has a traveling exhibit that was outside, but it was closed for the night by the time we got here. Apparently the traveling portion of the exhibit shows how they fire the glass. I'd love to go back when there's more time to look around - and more time to buy a replica at the gift shop :) They had an area where kids (or me) could "make your own Chiluly" out of plastic pieces that looked like his blown glass pieces.

First Baby Birthday

This weekend we went to our first birthday party for a one year old. First of many, I'm sure. There were tons of babies there. I don't know half that many people with kids. It was wild. Lily was, of course, the cutest :) Nolan was the birthday boy and he smashed his face with tons of cake. Very cute.

We found out today that the people we were trying to buy the house from totally bombed. They have to declare bankrupcy. So the house will go into foreclosure. Because they owe so much on the place, it won't be a bargain when it goes to auction either. So we're withdrawing our offer and continuing the search. Sad stuff. I felt like I lost my puppy. We actually found another place that the house is in MUCH better shape, but the yard isn't as extraordinary. It's a really nice big private yard, but there's a busy road behind the tree line. The yard is still special, though, and loads better than we have now. So we'll see. We're looking at some more places tomorrow. Just want a yard for summer. Still no takers on our house...tell all your friends to come see our place if they want to rent or buy. Matt and Taryn, how long did it take you guys to sell your place? I feel like you at least had lookers. We've had ONE person look in over 2 weeks.

Lessons of the Week

# 1 - Don't act like an idiot in front of the Archbishop. Abbie got confirmed on Sunday and I was her sponsor. My only job was to put my hand on her shoulder and say her name to the Archbishop. Well, when I got confirmed the priest (no Archbishop for me) said to dad "who is the candidate for confirmation being presented" - or something along those lines - and dad said my name. This time, the Archbishop looked at me, so I smiled. Then he looked back at Abbie, looked at her name tag, and said "Abbie"...and went on. I blew it - one line and I blew it. Now the Archbishop thinks I'm a huge dork.

I just had to add a picture of the backyard of the house we may be loosing.....just so you all can understand our pain :) The first is from the tree line to the back of our house...the second is a picture from the upper deck looking out at the yard.
