View from the Front Pack

Addy went on the 5th hike of her life on Sunday. We live right by Fort Harrison State Park. It's a wonderful park with some decent hiking trails. We put Lily in the backpack and Addison in the front pack and took off. We (okay, I) got lost once, but we quickly got back on track. It was about a 2 hour hike and the girls were so good the whole time. They actually love being in the packs and usually never complain when they're being carried in them. I'm sure it's the reason people do chores with babies in front packs, but I'm always worried about the baby falling out if I bend over....so we use them soley for hiking and walking purposes. After we made our way back to our car, we had a picnic lunch and let Lily run wild for a while before nap time. So here are a few pics from our hike and one of the girls just being cute in their elmo chair.

Ana's Shower

Ana's first wedding shower was on Thursday night. It was at Forrest Park in Noblesville, and they decorated the room like a beach party. Very tempting for an almost 2 year old who came with me! Lily and Keston (Ana and John's nephew) could not resist all the beach balls, buckets, shovels, beach chairs, etc. Anyway, the shower was really well done and Ana got lots of nice gifts....I just hope Ana was able to overlook Lily's melt downs :)

Visiting Cousin Michael

Joe and Mel were in town briefly with Michael before they headed up to Lafayette for a wedding. I took the girls to see them so the three cousins could hang out together. It, of course, wasn't long enough, so hopefully we'll see them again soon.

Addison's Baptism!

Addison's baptism was today. It went so well. There were five babies that got baptized, and it was our new priest's first baptism at St. Simon. Needless to say, Addy was the cutest and the best behaved :) She wore the same baptism gown from Barclay's family that Lily wore. Matt and Ana are the Godparents, but Ariana filled in for Ana, since Ana was out of town. Grandmother cried when they said "Addison Barbara", which cracks me up every time! She's very emotional about Addy's name. Now Addy is in good shape and has 2 great Godparents.

After the baptism everyone came back to our house for a cookout. We had a big group and lots of good food. It was HOT, but everyone still seemed to wander outside. Lily was really good for the whole cookout even though it was during her nap time. We credit Thomas for keeping her busy and playing with her the whole time.

Taryn's Baby Shower

On Saturday we had Taryn's baby shower at Stables. It was a huge baby shower since it's Matt and Taryn's only trip home before baby Gabriel arrives. So it was all of our family, all of Taryn's family, and all of her friends. It was a fun group. It was so hot on Saturday that I thought we might smolder (especially after they were a 1/2 hour late opening the restaurant and we had to wait outside in the 90 degree weather), but they piped up the ac and all was well after that. Hopefully baby Gabriel has all he needs now!

Hangin' in the Haute...and meeting Audrey

The girls and I headed to Terre Haute on Friday to hang out with Matt and Taryn, and to meet Sarah's new baby, Audrey Elizabeth. Audrey is adorable. She looks a lot like Sarah (I think so anyway), except she has brown hair. We really didn't do much while we were there...just hung out at home and visited. The first picture is of Addy on Aunt Carla's lap (don't be confused and think Audrey is that big already).
